Republican Mia Love has won the race for Utah's 4th Congressional District, becoming the first black female Republican ever elected to Congress.

Love's win over Democrat Doug Owens means Utah Democrats will no longer have any representatives in Congress. She will replace longtime Democratic Rep. Jim Matheson, who chose not to seek another term.

Love, the former mayor of Saratoga Springs, narrowly lost to Matheson two years ago.

Owens is a Salt Lake City attorney and son of the late U.S. Rep. Wayne Owens of Utah.
