Prosecutors rest in ex-Virginia governor case

Prosecutors have finished presenting their case to a jury in the corruption trial of former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife, Maureen.

The government wrapped up its case Thursday with FBI Special Agent David Husler testifying as the final prosecution witness.

The McDonnells are charged in a 14-count indictment with accepting more than $165,000 in gifts and loans from the former CEO of a dietary supplements maker in exchange for promoting his company's products. They could face decades in prison if convicted.

Prosecutors called 45 witnesses during the nearly three weeks of trial, which has produced many embarrassing details about the former first couple's time in office.

The defense is set to begin presenting its case Monday.
