Major League Baseball has announced that President Obama will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Nationals Park in Washington, DC on opening day Monday, April 5 at 1:05pm when the Washington Nationals take on the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies.
This is not the first time the Commander-in-Chief has taken to the mound. For the 2009 All-Star Game in St. Louis, President Obama threw the opening pitch. While it wasn't quite as strong a pitch as previous Presidents, Obama did manage to get it across the plate.
And when Obama was a Senator from Illinois he threw out the first pitch during the 2005 American League Championship series when his favorite team, the Chicago White Sox, took on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
