President Obama Seems to Joke About Orchestra Toast Misfire

LONDON, ENGLAND -- President Obama appeared to enjoy a chuckle at a meeting Wednesday morning about the orchestra mistakenly playing during his toast to the Queen during a state dinner at Buckingham Palace the night before.

While attending a meeting at 10 Downing Street with Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg , reporters heard Clegg say,"when the music starts...I thought you did exactly the right thing"

Then Obama replied, "I thought that it was out of the movies where it was a soundtrack."

And Clegg says, "like a crescendo." "And it kind of comes in," Obama added. "A voiceover," Clegg said.

Tuesday night, the Queen rolled the red carpet for the president in a grand dinner filled with pomp, celebrities and rich royal tradition.

At the dinner, after the Queen toasted the president, he stood up to give his speech. In the middle of it, he said the line, "Ladies and gentlemen, please stand with me a raise your glasses as I propose a toast."

The orchestra then seemed to misfire when hearing the word "toast" playing "God Save the Queen" while the president was still finishing his remarks.

Only thing was, he still had more to say, "To Her Majesty the Queen. For the vitality of the special relationship between our peoples, and in the words of Shakespeare, "To this blessed plot, this Earth, this realm, this England. To the Queen," Obama added.

According to the schedule, the order was supposed to be speech, music, and then the actual toast.
