A white Houston man accused of misleading voters into thinking he was black to help him win election is now accused of not living in the district he was elected to represent.
Dave Wilson was narrowly elected to the Houston Community College board of trustees in November. His opponent alleged campaign mailers Wilson sent to voters in the predominantly black district -- featuring photographs of African-Americans-- implied Wilson was black. Wilson has said he never lied on his mailers.
Harris County Attorney Vince Ryan now alleges in a lawsuit that Wilson is ineligible to serve because he doesn't live in the district that elected him.
