President Obama has lost control of events in his presidency and even worse, fallen victim to the law he created, syndicated columnist Charles Krauthammer said Tuesday.

“Normally, a president is hostage to events, a war, a hurricane, Katrina, or whatever,” Krauthammer said on “Special Report with Bret Baier.”

“Here, the irony is that the event Obama is hostage to is ObamaCare.”

Krauthammer said the fundamental problem with the president’s signature health care law is what he called the “lie of the year” -- that the 80 percent of American people with health insurance won’t be affected by the legislation.

“What people have learned is that it completely remakes health insurance, completely affects their lives,” he said. “And it’s going to be extremely hard for [President Obama] to recover, because the law is now rolling along…and can’t be stopped.”
