News anchor and author Jorge Ramos disclosed over the weekend that his daughter, Paola, a recent Harvard graduate, is taking a position in the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton.
He said this will not change the way he performs his duties at Fusion and Univision, where he is a prominent host.
“I completely support and respect Paola’s decision. In our family we have always cherished tolerance, dialogue and active participation in what you believe,” he wrote on Fusion’s website.
“I will continue to report with complete independence and ask the tough questions, the same way I have done for the last 30 years.”

Ramos, an eight-time Emmy Award winner and currently one of the World’s Most Influential People, according to Time magazine, is the author of nine best-selling books, most recently, “A Country for All: An Immigrant Manifesto.”
“As a father, I am very proud that she has decided to actively participate in our democratic process,” he wrote in the posted announcement. “I hope that more young people get involved, regardless of political parties or ideological preferences. Our democracy and our future depend on that.”
