Has Hillary backed away from a policy promise?

The once, and possibly future, occupant of the White House seems to be keeping a low profile these days. Her disappearance from the public stage prompted this question.

Politico’s Edward-Isaac Dovere and Maggie Haberman speculate on why the former secretary of State is keeping her head low. One reason? The failed ACA rollout. Or she’s attempting to distance herself from Obama for a 2016 run.

And Politico says that causes big problems for the Pres: “... the growing anticipation around a possible Clinton administration three years out could accelerate the president’s arrival at lame duck status.”

Or is the distance from the administration a bit to do with a 10-point decline in her poll numbers since leaving office?

For a woman no longer a first lady, senator, or secretary of State, she’s been mentioned 77,000 times on Twitter in the last month according to Topsy.com.

Whatever the reasons, the media love to talk up, and tear down Hillary. Do you think it has something to do with the number of clicks her name brings to a website?

No wonder Congress is hated, despised, loathed, abhorred, and any other adjective that means just plain lame-o.

How many of us get to work only eight days during the holiday season? Couldn’t you use a few days off to buy presents, book flights on days that aren’t astronomically expensive, and wrap presents before Dec. 24?

The article goes on to outline their abysmal attendance record:

“The House had 239 days off scheduled during 2013, and they have even more off days scheduled for next year.”

How can our nation’s leaders be so tone deaf? Their approval rating is in the toilet. Nine percent? Who are those people who think Congress is doing just fine? At this point, it’s gotta be friends and relatives.

During his career -- Senate campaign, Newark mayor -- Cory Booker’s mug was all over the media.  Manu Raju of Politico says times are a-changin’.

Some took note of the newly-muted alleged status, including Daily Beast columnist David Frum.

If he seems distant to some journos, he sure plays an upbeat Chatty Cathy and Senator-to-the-rescue in the Twitterverse with his constituents.

We’ve reported on his penchant for his almost-daily tweeting uplifting quotes. Now he’s added “fun facts” to his feed. This one culled from Greg Hatala’s reporting at The Star-Ledger.

Maybe he just has a mouth full of cookies?

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos scored big Sunday – the day before Cyber Monday -- with a much-hyped “60 Minutes” exclusive interview on his new drone delivery idea. Has anyone asked the FAA what it thinks? I’m betting some politicos may have big problems with the visionary’s idea of sending merchandise by machine to your lawn. Power lines, anyone?

But it doesn’t make this “We attempted a drone delivery” spoof (which bounced around the Twitterverse with lightning -- not drone -- speed) any less funny. Here’s the original which many media outlets lifted as their own without giving credit to @QuantumPirate for being the first to post.

It’s an example of a great viral tweet, unless you’re Amazon:
