George H.W. Bush funeral will be attended by Trumps, Clintons, others: A list of notable guests

As the nation mourns the death of former President George H.W. Bush, he will be honored at a funeral service at the Washington National Cathedral late Wednesday morning.
The nation’s 41st president died on Nov. 30 at the age of 94 at his home in Houston. His casket arrived in Washington, D.C., Monday, and he will lie in state at the Capitol rotunda until early Wednesday. After the funeral service, Bush will be flown back to Texas to be buried.
Former President George W. Bush, his son, will deliver a eulogy at the funeral Wednesday, as will former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, former Senator Alan Simpson and presidential historian Jon Meacham.

Presidents
President Trump and first lady Melania Trump will attend the funeral service at the Washington National Cathedral, according to the White House. Despite his fractious relationship with the Bush family over the years, Trump remembered the 41st president as a man of “sound judgment, common sense and unflappable leadership.”

The first lady attended Barbara Bush’s funeral earlier this year, although the president did not.
Former President George W. Bush, his son, will be one of the eulogists at the service.
Former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama will attend the service. The former first lady said she put her book tour on hold to “join the Bush family in celebrating President George H.W. Bush’s exemplary life” at the funeral.

Former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton also confirmed their attendance. Daughter Chelsea Clinton will attend as well.
"Bill and I will be traveling to Washington to pay our respects to President George H.W. Bush and his family at the funeral this week," Hillary Clinton tweeted. "We were greatly looking forward to being in Houston for our event this week, and are excited to come back next year as soon as we find a date."
Former President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, will attend the funeral.

Politicians
Former Sen. Alan Simpson, R-Wyo., will deliver a eulogy for Bush.

Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan will attend the funeral, a spokeswoman confirmed. He will also be on hand for the arrival ceremony for Bush in the Capitol rotunda Monday evening.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott will travel to Washington, D.C., for the funeral, WCTV reported.
Foreign dignitaries
Former Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney is expected to deliver a eulogy at the funeral. Mulroney was prime minister from 1984 to 1993; Bush was president from 1989 to 1993.
Prince Charles plans to attend the funeral, representing his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, according to the Clarence House.

Others
Presidential historian Jon Meacham, who wrote a biography on Bush, will give a eulogy for the former president at the service.

McGrath also confirmed the children of deceased presidents will attend the funeral, including Susan Ford Bales; Tricia Nixon Cox and Edward Cox; Luci Baines Johnson and Ian Turpin; and Lynda Johnson Robb and former Sen. Charles Robb.
