EPA administrator makes appeal at X-rated music festival

EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy told attendees of a music festival "we need you," in between groups who rapped, "Looking at that white girl, trying to get that white money," and "Got a super bad b-tch, no ass, no t-ts, but I really do love her like sh-t."

McCarthy appeared at the "environmental justice" Broccoli festival on Saturday to raise awareness about climate change.

"It's great to see so many young people who are so passionate about issues like the environment, keeping our communities healthy, and the issue of climate change," she said. "I want you to know that your voice is incredibly important and that's why I am here to ask you to raise your voice every chance you get. There you go, because we need you!"

"EPA's success only happens when your voice is joined in," McCarthy said. "So do me a favor, lend your voices, we've got to get this plan over the finish line and every community is going to benefit."

"We're going to keep our energy affordable and reliable and we're going to keep our communities healthy, but only if you work for it, only if you work with us," she added.

McCarthy said her remarks were a "break from the music."

That music included Rock Creek Social Club, who sang, "Put the motherf-g hands up in the sky. Sing this sh-t. We gonna be all right. N- we gonna be all right."
