Netherlands advance to quarterfinals with 3-1 win over USA
The United States men's soccer team takes on the Netherlands in the Round of 16 in the World Cup.

The World Cup dreams for the United States Men’s National Team came to end Saturday in Qatar.
After advancing to the knockout phase for the first time since 2014 with a 1-0 win over Iran, the USMNT will be heading home after a 3-1 loss to the Netherlands.

The Netherlands will move on to the quarterfinal after defeating the U.S. 3-1 in their World Cup matchup.
They will play the winner of Argentina-Australia.
Six minutes of stoppage time was awarded to this match.
Netherlands lead 3-1.
The Netherlands buckled down and got one back in the 81st minute.
Denzel Dumfries was unguarded on the back end and put the Dutch back up 3-1.
Christian Pulisic starts the break and Haji Wright flips the ball in.

The United States men's soccer team is down 2-0 at halftime to the Netherlands, but not all hope is lost.
In their only matchup ever, the U.S. was down 3-1 to the Dutch in a 2015 friendly. But John Brooks, Danny Williams and Bobby Wood came through in the second half to help the U.S. win the match.
The U.S. has had few chances in the first half, which will have to be rectified in the second. The Dutch got a big goal before halftime to put a little bit of distance between them and the Americans.
But they'll have to nail the door shut.
The Netherlands go up 2-0 on the U.S. right before halftime
Netherlands goalkeeper Andries Noppert came up with a huge save in the 43rd minute of the match.
Tim Weah fired a rocket at Noppert in hopes of trying to sneak one ball by -- but to no avail.
It was the U.S.' first shot since Christian Pulisic's in the 3rd minute.
Memphis Depay scored the first goal against the U.S. in Saturday's World Cup match -- but it wasn't the first time.
Depay scored against the U.S. in their 2015 friendly. He put the Dutch up 3-1 in that match.
However, the U.S. came roaring back to win 4-3.
American fans came a long way to support the U.S. men's soccer team in Qatar and their presence was felt Saturday in the match against the Netherlands.
With the Dutch already up 1-0, "U-S-A" chants broke out in Khalifa International Stadium.
Memphis Depay gets the Netherlands on the board first.
Depay was running down the sideline and was in the right place to put one past goalkeeper Matt Turner.

The U.S. is putting the Netherlands on their heels early.
Christian Pulisic had a ball bounce his way early in the match and had a great chance to put the U.S. up early but it was blocked away.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James expressed support for the U.S. team as they get set to play in the World Cup against the Netherlands.
