Jim Marchant has been declared the winner in the Republican primary election for Nevada's secretary of state, AP News reported.
In November, Jim Marchant will face Cisco Aguilar, who ran unopposed to pick up the Democratic nomination.
Nevada's current secretary of state, a Republican, was unable to seek reelection due to term limits.
Merchant previously expressed support for overturning the results of the 2020 presidential election, echoing claims of widespread fraud by former President Donald Trump and others.

The Nevada Secretary of State’s office has told Fox News that all polls closed in the state earlier in the evening, but that results are not yet being released because a few counties are still voting due to long lines.

Sam Brown's campaign says there are still long lines of people waiting to vote in parts of the state which is why results are delayed.
Results will not begin to be reported until every person who is in line gets a chance to vote.
Rep. Tom Rice, who was defeated by Trump-backed challenger Russell Fry in the Republican primary for South Carolina's 7th Congressional District, is standing by his vote to impeach the former president.
"Your representative owes you not only his industry, but his judgment, and if he sacrifices that to your opinion, he does neither of you a service. And I know I did the right thing. I know I defended the Constitution. If people want to choose what happened on January 6th over the Constitution, that's up to them."

Former President Donald Trump touted Russell Fry's win over Rep. Tom Rice, R-S.C., in a primary Tuesday. Trump supported Fry's effort to unseat Rice after the incumbent voted to impeach the former president.
“The biggest News of the evening so far is that Russell Fry beat Impeach Master Tom Rice with a Vote of more than 51%, therefore WINNING OUTRIGHT with no need for a run-off," Trump said. "Rice only got 24%. Congratulations to Russell on running a great campaign!”

Former President Donald Trump issued a statement on his social network Truth Social Tuesday night the loss for Katie Arrington, who he supported, to incumbent Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C.
“Katie Arrington was a long shot but ran a great race and way over performed," Trump said. "Congrats to Nancy Mace, who should easily be able to defeat her Democrat opponent.”
Trump’s “congrats” to Nancy Mace is noteworthy, as he’s blasted her numerous times over the past several months, as he backed Arrington’s challenge of Mace in the GOP primary.
Trump’s yet to say anything about Russell Fry’s victory over Rep. Tom Rice in SC-07 GOP primary. Fry becomes the first Trump backed candidate to oust a GOP incumbent this primary season.
Former President Trump's endorsement of a primary challenger to incumbent Republican Rep. Tom Rice, one of just 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach him, seemingly paid off Tuesday night.
Rice conceded to state lawmaker Russell Fry, Fox News learned as votes were still being counted. Fry was 25 points ahead and with more than 51% of the vote to Rice's 24% when the Associated Press called the race.
Rice, a self-described "Chamber of Commerce" Republican, leaned into his impeachment vote as he’s faced off from half a dozen primary challengers.
"Republicans are supposed to protect the Constitution. We take an oath to protect the Constitution, not a man," Rice emphasized in an interview with Fox News Digital on the eve of the primary. "And so what I did was take a conservative vote. If you want a conservative, I’m the guy."
Fry previously told Fox News he wouldn’t be challenging Rice if the congressman hadn’t voted for impeachment, adding "I think the impeachment is the big elephant in the room and the voters are incredibly frustrated by that."

GOP candidate Mayra Flores won the 34th Congressional District special election over Democrat Dan Sanchez, the Associated Press projected Tuesday. Flores will replace former Democrat Rep. Filemon Vela, who retired earlier this year.
The Republican win in the heavily Hispanic district comes ahead of what the GOP expects to be very successful midterm elections.

Former Congressman Joe Cunningham has defeated State Sen. Mia McLeod in South Carolina's Democratic Gubernatorial primary.
Cunningham will now face off against incumbent Gov. Henry McMaster, who defeated challenger Harrison Musselwhite in the Republican primary.

The winner of Tuesday’s Nevada Senate GOP primary will face off in November with first-term Democratic Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto, a former state attorney general whom national Republicans view as vulnerable. The race is one of a handful across the country that will likely decide if the GOP wins back the Senate majority in the midterm elections.
Laxalt enjoys the backing of former President Donald Trump, as well as longtime Senate GOP leader Mitch McConnell, and the big-spending outside group Club for Growth. Trump, McConnell and the Club for Growth have often been at odds with each other this cycle in other high-profile Republican primaries. Two other stars on the right — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas — traveled to Nevada in recent weeks to campaign with Laxalt.
"It’s our job on top of the ticket to make sure we’re exciting our base and turning out our voters and the primary’s a great dry run for the general election," Laxalt told Fox News.
But before he faces off with Cortez Masto, Laxalt first needs to win the GOP nomination and standing in his way is his top rival in the race, Sam Brown, a West Point graduate and retired Army captain who led troops in combat and who recovered from serious injuries sustained from an IED explosion during a 2008 deployment in Afghanistan.

Nevada GOP Senate candidate Sam Brown Tuesday night thanked supporters and said his campaign had altered Nevada Republican poitics for years to come, as he faces down frontrunner Adam Laxalt in a primary.
"Duty first is something that you all have adopted as your own motto," Brown said at his election night party.
"No mission to difficult, no sacrifice too great... it's a campaign motto that started in my kitchen on my countertop," he added. "You all have adopted that."
His supporters, Brown added, "changed the landscape of Republican politics in this state for years to come."
In an interview with Fox News' Hillary Vaughn, Brown said Washoe County "is going to be a key county for us" and that returns from Clark County will also be an important indicator.

Ahead of Tuesday's election, incumbent Democrat Gov. Steve Sisolak aimed to retain his seat in November and defeat his primary challenger Tom Collins, a former member of the Clark County Commission. Joe Lombardo, the Clark County Sheriff who was endorsed by former President Trump, was the Republican front runner for governor headed into the election.
The GOP race for the Senate in Nevada included a wide variety of candidates, including Republican front runner Adam Laxalt, the state's former attorney general who also received an endorsement from Trump, and Army veteran Sam Brown.
Key House seats were also up for grabs in the Silver State on Tuesday, with incumbent Democrat Rep. Dina Titus, who represents the state's First Congressional District, facing a tough primary challenge against Amy Vilela. Similarly, incumbent Republican Rep. Mark Amodei faced a tough primary challenge against conservative Danny Tarkanian for the state's Second Congressional District.
Incumbent Republican Sen. John Hoeven has clinched the Republican nomination for Senate in North Dakota, according to an Associated Press projection.
Hoeven has represented North Dakota in the U.S. Senate since 2011 and defeated his primary challenger Riley Kuntz, a former oil field worker, in Tuesday's GOP primary election in the state.
Hoeven formerly served as the 31st governor of North Dakota from 2000 to 2010.
Hoeven will face Democrat Katrina Christiansen in the general election, the Associated Press projected Tuesday.
The watch party for embattled Republican Rep. Tom Rice has started in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Rice was cheered by a crowd of about 50 close friends, family and supporters as he entered Brother's Grill, one of his favorite restaurants.
Rice is running a tight race against state Rep. Russell Fry, who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump.

Polls are closed for Maine's Republican primary election and some have began closing in North Dakota. Polls in the special election for Texas 34th Congressional District have also closed.
In Texas, a special election for Texas' 34th Congressional District to finish the term for retired Rep. Filemon Vela, D-Texas, took place on Tuesday. Leading up to the election, front runners in the race for a short term on Capitol Hill were former Cameron County commissioner Dan Sanchez, a Democrat, and healthcare worker Mayra Flores, a Republican who outspent Sanchez and gained steam in the race for the seat that has been vacant for more than two months.
In Maine, Bruce Poliquin, a Republican who previously represented the state's Second Congressional District from 2015 to 2019, aims to regain the seat and defeat his primary challenger Liz Caruso. The winner will face off against incumbent Democrat Rep. Jared Golden in November.
In North Dakota, Sen. John Hoeven, R-N.D., is up for reelection. The GOP and Democrats will pick their nominees in primary races, with Hoeven a heavy favorite to get the Republican nod.

Progressive Democrat and activist Amy Vilela is making a bid in Nevada's Tuesday Democratic primary to oust longtime moderate incumbent Rep. Dina Titus, D-Nev., from the congressional seat she's held for nearly a decade in the latest electoral test for the progressive wing of the party.
In exclusive interviews with Fox News Digital, each of the candidates made the case as to why they were the right person to represent voters in Nevada's 1st Congressional District, with Titus arguing she was the true "progressive" in the race and Vilela claiming voters were struggling with Titus' "complacency" preventing real change.
"We are really struggling in Las Vegas, and it's time to have some bold leadership that is ready to go and fight for change," Vilela said when asked about the state of the race. "People are responding positively. They're ready for leadership that isn't complacence."

I meant what I said, and I upheld my oath, even when it’s hard," the five-term representative in South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District said to polite applause from supporters gathered at Hog Heaven Barbeque on Pawleys Island on the eve of the state’s primary.
Rice was one of just 10 House Republicans to vote to impeach Trump on charges that he fueled the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol perpetrated by right-wing extremists and other Trump supporters aiming to disrupt congressional certification of President Biden’s Election College victory in the 2020 election.

A candidate running for Senate in Nevada said Adam Laxalt, the leading Republican candidate going into Tuesday's primary election, has "taken voters for granted."
Sam Brown, a retired Army captain and Purple Heart recipient, trailed Laxalt in the polls by nearly 20 points leading up to election day, according to the Real Clear Politics average. However, Brown closed the gap considerably in the final weeks of the campaign.
"Adam Laxalt, who I'm running against in this primary, has taken the voters for granted and just expects people to vote for him based off of his prior service as an attorney general and the fact that he's got big name endorsements," Brown told Fox News.
Laxalt's communications director, John Bruke, told Fox News: "While Sam Brown was unloading a u-haul after his most recent campaign loss in Texas, Adam Laxalt has built a grassroots movement that represents all 17 counties. No campaign on the entire ticket has been in front of more voters and engaged more Nevadans than ours."
"We are ready to lead this party to victory in November," Burke added.

{{#rendered}}Conservative principles have taken center stage in the heated clash between incumbent Rep. Mark Amodei, R-Nev., and challenger Danny Tarkanian in the race to represent Nevada's 2nd Congressional District in the next U.S. Congress.
In exclusive interviews with Fox News Digital, each of the candidates argued they were the true conservative in the race, with Amodei touting his record voting in tandem with former President Donald Trump's policies, and Tarkanian declaring he was the conservative that voters across the district "deserve and demand."
"Hey Amodei, you RINO. Seriously?" began one of Amodei's ads he alluded to when asked about the criticism he'd received from Tarkanian over his congressional voting record. The 30-second ad went on to show him pushing back on the "Republican in Name Only" characterization by touting his positive ratings with the NRA and pro-life organizations, as well as "a Trump rating of 95%."
