Two-time Olympian Brooke Raboutou is going home with an Olympic medal after she won silver in the women’s sport climbing boulder and lead final on Saturday. She improved on her fifth place finish in Tokyo to finish second in Paris with 156.0 points.
Raboutou, 23, became the first American woman to medal in the event, which debuted at the Olympics in 2021.
Janja Garnbert of Slovenia successfully defended her Olympic gold medal, scoring 168.5 points.
Mallory Swanson has put the United States on the board, breaking nearly 60 minutes of scoreless soccer with a game-changing goal in the second half of Saturday’s gold medal match against Brazil.
The U.S. took the first lead of the title game in Paris when Swanson beat out Brazil's Lorena to find the back of the net at the 57th minute.
The goal quickly changed the momentum of the game, giving Team USA the upper hand.
The score at halftime in the gold medal match between the USWNT and Brazil remained 0-0 after six minutes of stoppage time, but Brazil entered the locker room having put on a dominant performance.
Brazil had 54% ball possession and four shots on their American counterparts, keeping goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher and defender Naomi Girma on their toes for much of the match.
Brazil, who has twice been denied Olympic gold by the USWNT, found the net early on but an offsides call would keep the score leveled.

USA fans at Parc des Princes in Paris on Saturday held their breath early on in the first half of the gold medal match between the USWNT and Brazil after two-time Olympian Ludmila found the back of the net.
The Americans were facing a 1-0 hole, but the officials immediately waved the offsides flag.
The call was reviewed and no goal was rewarded.
The USWNT is chasing a record fifth Olympic gold medal.
Nelly Korda was within striking distance of a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics for the first three days of competition, but she is sitting +3 on the day and 1-under par for the tournament after 17 holes on Saturday.
After putting a ball in the water at the 15th hole and triple bogeying the hole, Korda's medal hopes are on life support.
The world no.1 ranked golfer struggled with the last four holes of the course all week. At one point during the second round, she held sole possession of second place before a quad bogey on the 16th hole followed by a bogey on the 17th hole.
Barring something extraordinary, it seems unlikely Korda will medal in the women’s Olympic Golf tournament.

Nevin Harrison, the reigning gold medalist in the women’s 200-meter canoe sprint, is going home with a silver medal after she just narrowly missed the top of the podium to Katie Vincent of Canada on Saturday.
Harrison, 22, finished one hundredths of a second behind Vincent, who set the world record with her time of 44.12 seconds.
In Tokyo, 19-year-old Harrison became the first American to win gold in sprint canoe and was just the second-youngest woman in Olympics history to win a title in the sport.
