9 days until midterms, Trump and Obama rally Michigan as Alaska race faces legal fight

Republican congressional candidate Scott Singer claimed a recent survey showed him with a seven-point lead over Democratic Rep. Jared Moskowitz in the race for Florida’s 25th Congressional District, pointing to the results as evidence of shifting voter sentiment against “career politicians.”

“It does reflect what we're seeing on the ground: Huge Republican enthusiasm and independents and Democrats who are looking for a change from a career politician who's passed zero bills in Congress and yet traded stocks four and a half million dollars worth 400 times plus. Nothing to show for it. They're tired of career politicians,” Singer said.

Asked about his challenger, who has been described as less radical than others in his party, Singer claimed Moskowitz voted alongside the “Squad” 88% of the time.

“He talks a big game, but when it's time to vote, his voting record is hand-in-hand with Democratic leadership in the squad,” he said.

“He also, unlike other Democrats, refused to cross the aisle on key US-Israeli cooperation for military and intelligence sharing. So he is not the moderate you would think,” Singer said.

Minnesota Senate candidate Michele Tafoya accused Democratic rival Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan of hypocrisy for vowing to root out corruption while refusing to take responsibility for fraud uncovered during her tenure alongside Gov. Tim Walz.

“It's rich how she just said, ‘Imagine what we can do if we root out the corruption.’ Where's she been for eight years? …She had plenty of time to root out the corruption because in fact, whistleblowers were coming to her saying, ‘There's corruption, let's root it out.’ And she chastised them, she put them to the side,” Tafoya said on "The Big Weekend Show.”

Tafoya also argued that progressive proposals such as Medicare for All are out of touch, particularly when “Medicaid was gutted here in Minnesota by this fraud.”

“Any of the things that she's talking about are going to raise taxes in a massive way. I will cut taxes for Minnesota families,” Tafoya said.

She also blamed prolonged Democratic single-party rule for rising violent crime, the state's shift from a budget surplus to a deficit, and high taxes and fees that she said are driving businesses out of Minnesota.

Abdul El-Sayed on Sunday slammed Republican rival Mike Rogers for nodding approvingly at President Donald Trump’s “ridiculous” proposals despite what he described as the president’s “real deficits.”

“So with Donald Trump, like, you can't blame him. For this. He's just dumb. You can blame him for the narcissism,” El-Sayed said during a campaign rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“But for Mike Rogers, can you imagine how small of a human being you have to be to know that the man in front of you has real deficits, and to just nod your head approvingly at the most ridiculous s--- that the man proposes. All for what? All for what? It's because he's made so much money off of his time in Congress.”

El-Sayed accused Rogers of lying to voters and advancing corporate interests rather than holding companies accountable through regulation.

“Got to get in while the getting is good. The whole goal is to go take one more lap through the revolving door,” El-Sayed said.

“The game for people like Mike Rogers is to take corporate money, to lie to people, to get elected to office, to do the corporate bidding, then turn around after you leave office and go work for the exact corporations that you are regulating,” he said. 

Sen. Bernie Sanders on Sunday called President Donald Trump a “mentally unbalanced” narcissist and accused him of engaging in “racist attacks against Abdul El-Sayed.”

Sanders made the remarks during a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he campaigned for the Democratic U.S. Senate candidate.

“Not only is he a narcissist, he is running the most corrupt administration in American history,” Sanders said.

“And tragically, but not surprisingly, much of this campaign in Michigan right now are based on racist attacks against Abdul El-Sayed.”

Despite his criticism of Trump, Sanders described the president as savvy in his ability to “divide people up” in the country.

“Trump may be a mentally unbalanced person, but he is not stupid. Like demagogues throughout history, he understands that the best and most effective way to stay in power is to divide people up," he said.

Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign on Sunday called Republican rival Mike Rogers a “rubber stamp” for the Trump administration after President Donald Trump rallied in Michigan in support of Rogers.

“Donald Trump told Michigan ‘pretend I’m on the ballot’ — and Michigan will. Mike Rogers is running to be Trump’s rubber stamp, and has backed every single one of Trump’s massive price hikes,” campaign spokesperson Cole Wozniak said.

“While they lie and resort to desperate, bad faith attacks, Abdul remains laser focused on his plans to bring down costs and stand up to the chaos and corruption in Washington. Michigan knows Trump is on the ballot on November 3rd—and they will vote like it by rejecting Trump’s rubber stamp Mike Rogers and sending Abdul to the Senate.”

El-Sayed’s campaign said Rogers’ backing of what it called “reckless” tariffs has hit Michigan households particularly hard, claiming families are losing more than $5,000 on average due to Trump’s trade policies.

“Mike Rogers fully backs Trump’s illegal war with Iran and dumb trade war with Canada which are spiking costs for Michigan families,” his campaign said.

“Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill—which Mike Rogers fully backs—is tossing over 171,000 Michiganders off their health insurance,” it added.

President Donald Trump on Sunday said criticism from Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., about how he runs the country "piss[es] me off," during a rally in Michigan supporting Republican candidates Mike Rogers and John James.

"She comes to this country and she says, ‘Oh, I have constitutional rights, and I don't like the way you run the United States of America. How dare you run it?’” Trump said. “I tell you, does it piss me off."

The president also called Omar a “little troublemaker” and criticized her native Somalia, which he described as a lawless country.

“You know, she comes from Somalia, probably maybe the worst country in the world: Has no government, has no anything. All they have is killing people. They kill people. They go after ships. They ransom ships,” Trump said.

“I’m amazed they can even do that, to be honest with you. But they have no country. They have no government, they have no anything," he continued. "They have no police. They just run around shooting each other.”

Trump’s comments came after he again cited allegations that Omar was sworn into Congress under a fake name.

“Because she used a fake name to be sworn in ... She has to resign from Congress immediately,” he said.

David Beamer, the father of Flight 93 hero Todd Beamer, joined President Donald Trump at a Michigan midterm rally to endorse Republican candidates Mike Rogers and John James while delivering a stark warning about internal political threats to the nation.

David labeled Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed an “anti-American” socialist and accused him of seeking to undermine the nation, citing support from the Muslim Brotherhood.

“He's anti-American. He is happy to be endorsed by our foreign enemies that hate us like the Muslim Brotherhood. He's happy to take their endorsement and their money because his views align with theirs and theirs align with his,” David said. 

Beamer argued that Democratic socialists are domestic “demolition specialists” seeking to dismantle American capitalism and freedom through socialism. He also claimed El-Sayed wants to disarm police, defund the military and replace the U.S. Constitution with sharia law.

“The mantra of their platform is really ‘Death to America.’ That's their mantra. But they disguise and camouflage it with having us look at some shiny symbol: Everything's going to be free. Free health care, free education,” David said. 

“What do you have to pay for that free stuff? Freedom. Become a slave to the socialist regime. Can't happen.”

Invoking his son’s famous words before passengers stormed the cockpit during the Sept. 11 hijacking, David closed by telling the rally, “Let’s roll.”

Rapper Nicki Minaj posted a video Sunday showing herself aboard Air Force One as she is expected to join President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Michigan supporting Republican Senate candidate Mike Rogers.

In the video, captioned “#AirForceOneBarbie,” Minaj wore a Gucci suit as she walked around the spacious presidential aircraft and interacted with staff members.

Minaj has increasingly voiced support for Trump, promoting his leadership and administration initiatives ahead of the midterm elections.

A top federal prosecutor in California warned it was “very highly likely” that noncitizens had already voted in Los Angeles County’s election as polling stations opened across the state Saturday.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli argued that local officials had failed to complete eligibility checks for at least 20,000 people within the timeframe requested by the Justice Department.

“If you look at California’s own papers, they said they’ve already processed over 300,000 ballots just for LA County. So this is going on as we speak,” Essayli told the California post, according to the New York Post.

Essayli and U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche are pursuing a lawsuit seeking to set aside disputed mail-in ballots and verify voters’ citizenship.

However, California’s continued efforts to challenge the Justice Department’s order could have irreversible consequences, Essayli warned.

“Our biggest fear is they’re just going to try to run out the clock until all the ballots have been processed, in which case there will be nothing we’ll be able to do after the election,” Essayli said, according to the Post. “Once they count the ballots, there’s no way to go back and undo that.”

President Donald Trump arrived in Fort Huron, Michigan, Sunday afternoon for a midterm election rally featuring rapper Nicki Minaj.

Minutes before taking the stage, Trump took to Truth Social to accuse Democratic candidate Abdul El-Sayed of being a “jihadist” linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and sharia law.

“Heading to Michigan to fight a Jihadist Member of the Muslim Brotherhood — A man who should never be allowed inside the Halls of our Great and Beautiful Capital Building, in Washington, D.C.,” Trump wrote in a post.

“Everything he stands for is bad for our Country, which is now the ‘HOTTEST,’ by far, anywhere in the World,” he continued.

Trump also claimed that El-Sayed should be tried if sharia law were ever implemented in the U.S.

“Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed wants our Country to go to Sharia Law," he said. "If it ever does, he should be the first that’s tried!”

In the same post, Trump took credit for boosting the nation’s auto industry and preserving Selfridge Air National Guard Base.

“Because of me, the Auto Industry is doing better than it has ever done before, with Plants and Factories being built, and expanded, all over the Country, especially in Michigan. I saved Selfridge Air Force Base when the Dumocrats were closing it down, saving thousands of Jobs and the Prestige that comes along with having such a place,” he said.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., issued a direct call to conservative voters Sunday, warning that Republican control of the House hinges entirely on base mobilization in the face of energized Democratic turnout.

"At the end of the day, this is going to be about turnout," Scalise told Fox News, noting battleground House districts across the country remain razor-thin, cautioning against typical midterm complacency among GOP voters.

"If people show up and vote on our side, we will win. The other side that hates President Trump, you know they're going to be showing up in record numbers. We need to make sure that everybody that does not want socialism, because that is what is on the ballot. Everybody needs to show up and then we'll hold the House."

Scalise urged conservative voters not to sit out the election, noting that past midterm losses often stemmed from low participation:

"They're all very close races," he continued. "That's why everybody who's thinking about it needs to show up and vote. Don't sit this one out. Like a lot of midterms conservatives sit at home. And then that's why things go south. If everybody shows up to vote, we'll hold the House."

Rapper Nicki Minaj is planning to join President Donald Trump on the campaign trail in Michigan on Sunday, delivering a jolt of celebrity star power to a high-stakes Republican rally in the final sprint to the midterm elections.

Minaj’s appearance alongside the president will come as Trump touched down in the critical Wolverine State battleground to rally the base and lift top-of-the-ticket GOP candidates.

Ahead of taking the stage, Minaj appeared to confirm her attendance on X, cementing her public alignment with Trump during a crucial closing push where both parties are scrambling for youth and cultural turnout.

The Trump rally's speaker program placed Minaj alongside a prominent lineup of administration figures and statewide Republican contenders, including: David Beamer – father of Flight 93 passenger Todd Beamer; Rep. John James, R-Mich., the Republican nominee for governor of Michigan; GOP Sen.-nominee Mike Rogers; and Dr. Mehmet Oz, administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

President Donald Trump is bringing the crowds at his rally Sunday in Michigan from all sides of the aisle.

Left-wing protesters were spotted by Fox News Digital's Paul Steinhauser just after noon, hours before Trump was set to deliver his remarks to stump for John James for governor and Mike Rogers for Senate.

President Donald Trump struck a confident tone on the GOP’s closing midterm prospects, claiming his blitz of campaign rallies has decisively reversed historical headwinds facing the party in power.

"I hear that we've turned the whole thing around," Trump told reporters, arguing that while sitting presidents typically face midterm losses, his grassroots appearances in battlegrounds like Ohio, Texas, and Nebraska have shifted the map.

Trump focused significant attention on the Senate contest in Michigan, where Republican nominee Mike Rogers is facing Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.

"We're going to Michigan, and it'll be very interesting," Trump said. "We don't want to see a jihadist senator. We don't want a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in our Senate. And we want somebody very capable. And I think Mike Rogers would do a great job. He's going to be a great senator. Mike Rogers is apple pie. He's a perfect guy for our country."

Turning to Alaska, Trump lashed out at the presence of an independent challenger who shares a nearly identical name with incumbent Sen. Dan Sullivan, R-Alaska, calling the state’s ranked-choice voting system "crooked" and criticizing court rulings that kept Daniel J. Sullivan on the ballot.

"I think it's illegal because it's unfair," Trump said.

"They come up with a guy who never partook in any election, was never involved. I think he wasn't even a voter.

"He just happens to have that name. And they put him on, and I think that's very unfair."

Republican Sen.-nominee Mike Rogers is making an unconventional pitch to Michigan voters ahead of the midterm election, arguing that his direct line to the White House has already delivered tangible results on a localized issue that stalled in Washington for over a decade: Canadian landfill dumping.

Rogers told NBC's "Meet the Press," of the practical advantage of sending a President Donald Trump ally to the Senate rather than a Democrat who would simply "poke them in the eye."

"I'm not even in office yet," Rogers said, pointing to Canada's dumping its trash in Michigan landfills. "I've been trying to get Canadian trash from coming across our border and dumping in our landfills for over a decade, and I left Congress in 2014, we still couldn't quite get it done. Called the administration and said, 'Hey, we need some help on these Canadian tariffs, but if you're going to tariff anything, tariff this trash that's filling up our landfills from what – the third largest landmass country in the world?'

"And guess what? They announced this week that they were going to tariff those trash trucks. That's what you get when you send somebody back who can work with the president."

Texas' Senate race is not the only one that could determine the future of the largest red state. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott is sounding alarms on his gubernatorial opponent Gina Hinojosa.

"In my race I can tell you one very simple reason that may shock some of your viewers, and that is your viewers are familiar with the crazy radical leftist agenda of [James] Talarico, who's on the ballot," Abbott told "The Sunday Briefing."

"What Texans are just now learning is that my opponent, Gina Hinojosa, actually is to the further progressive left than Talarico.

"Her voting record, which ranks No. 1 among all the House members in the Texas House of Representatives, is the furthest left, socialist Democrat."

President Donald Trump said he is not going to give up the congressional control without a fight in these midterm elections.

"I give myself a lot of credit," Trump told Fox News' "Sunday Morning Futures." "I mean, I'm being thanked. This is a guy being thanked by everybody in the party. It's that I'm working like hell."

Trump pointed to incumbent Sen. Pete Ricketts, R-Neb., running for reelection.

"By the way, in Nebraska, you're going to have a big win," Trump told anchor Larry Kudlow. "You're going to have a great win with Ricketts.

"He's great. He was a little bit down. I went there, and I hear you don't even have to bother anymore: It's gone through the roof and that's great.

"You're going to have a lot of wins, Larry, that people weren't talking about."
