Gayle King shared a heartwarming story of what true “Southern hospitality” means to her.
In it, the morning show news anchor recalled the moment she landed in Nashville and called upon her pal, Carly Pearce, for a suggestion on where King and her TV production crew could grab a bite to eat.
Pearce suggested “Milk & Honey” and King said that when she arrived to the popular establishment, “and ordered everything on the menu,” King was informed that one of her friends in country music had called the restaurant ahead of time to pay for King’s tab.
While quipping to the audience that the pal "with the nice voice" over the phone was not Kane Brown or Thomas Rhett, King found out that the anonymous friend was one, Carly Pearce.

Jason Aldean and Carrie Underwood take home the CMT award for collaborative video of the year with “If I didn’t Love You.”
The duo thanked fans and their video collaborators for their work on the project.
The show saw a quick banter monologue from hosts Kane Brown and Anthony Mackie before the pair introduced Carly Pearce, who took the stage to perform “Diamondback.”
The Australian crooner dedicated the performance to the fans of country music before Cole Swindell and Lainey Wilson took the stage for a show stopping performance of “Never Say Never” in a rainy Nashville.
Anthony Mackie hit the stage to share with the audience that co-host Kelsea Ballerini is "under the weather" but that her back-up "KB" Kane Brown is on the scene to help with the gig.
Other hosting offers came from Thomas Rhett and Martina McBride before Brown suggested The Judds.
It was then that Ballerini appeared via video before telling her co-hosts, "I would so much rather be there with you."

Kelsea Ballerini announced she'd be hosting the CMT Music Awards from home Monday night after contracting COVID-19.
Ballerini shared the news with fans on Instagram.
"All right friends, I have some bad news, and I have some good news," Ballerini said in a video. "The bad news is that a couple of days ago I tested positive for COVID, and the CMT Awards are tonight, so unfortunately I cannot be there in person anymore."
The country music star is set to perform her new single, "Heartfirst." However, the performance will now happen from Ballerine's home.
"The incredible CMT team and my team have bought part of the CMT set to my house, to my little bubble, and set it up to where I can still host and perform," Ballerini revealed. "It is certainly not what we had expected or planned for, but we are doing our damn best. ... Let's make some lemonade together out of these very bitter lemons.
