How to Look Like a Miss Universe

With just days before we say goodbye to 2012 and welcome 2013, MY Lifestyle Magazine gives you the edge in how to start the new year looking like a queen. A few weeks ago, we brought you our one-on-one exclusive chat with Miss Universe 2011 Leila Lopes, her last cover and intimate interview before passing the title.

Our reader feedback has been outstanding and some women now want to know the secrets to looking like a Miss Universe. So, the MY Lifestyle Extra team spoke to the experts to find out how to pull it off.

Here are five tips for a Miss Universe makeover!

First, use a good quality foundation. Number two, don’t overdo it on the makeup. Go for more of a natural and discreet look. Next, use a nice moisturizing lipstick in a natural shade. Fourth, is eyebrow care. Brush brows with a transparent mascara. And last, try hair extensions for more volume, says MY Lifestyle Magazine Guest Beauty Contributor Laura Gambardella of SHE USA in New York City.

“I have thin, fine hair and to me it was life changing once I put these in because I felt so much more secure with them,” says Gambardella, referencing the extensions that were used for the Miss Universe cover photo shoot.

“And that’s what every woman is looking for,” she continues. “Security.”

In our “Best of 2012” series this week, MY Lifestyle Magazine reflects on an event that uplifted and inspired us this past year. In October, Managing Editor Carlos Anaya hosted the Brillante Awards by the National Society of Hispanic MBAs in Orlando, Fl.

The glamorous event recognized Latino men and women making a difference in business all over the country. The awards were presented in a number of categories, including leadership, education, volunteer work, community service and more. Felicidades to all those who were honored, making Latinos everywhere proud.

Also this week, MY Lifestyle Extra takes a look at the new BusinessElite menu from Delta Air Lines, offering Latin-inspired dishes on flights between the U.S. and Latin America. This isn’t your typical airline food. Some of the meals include Oaxacan Mole, Roasted salmon and lentils, and many others. Simply Delicioso!

From the entire MY Lifestyle Magazine team, we wish you a very happy and prosperous new year! ¡Feliz Año Nuevo!
