Not only does it create a bold statement for any occasion, but this color adds oomph and a generous helping of shine. And for those hesitant of going over to the dark side, swirls of golden caramel highlights can easily lighten up the look, and lend a youthful, glowing appearance. “To create a rich, brunette shade of brown color, you want to make sure you use a warm chocolate brown — not ash brown,” says Beverly Hills-based celebrity hairstylist Nelson Chan. “Your goal is to have a brown color with a  golden undertone. The gold tone in the brown will create shine and richness to the color.” “Second, make sure this brown is not too dark or too light,” he adds. “Stay at dark or medium brown: not black, not very dark brown, and not light brown.
