A Florida teen who was complaining of headaches and vomiting was found dead in her dorm room by her mother and sister on Tuesday. Alyssa Michelle Lewis, 19, was in her fourth semester at University of Central Florida and was planning on visiting a doctor for her symptoms, News4Jax.com reported.
Her father, Bill Lewis, said her mother couldn’t reach their daughter on the phone, and had to find someone from the housing department to let them in. Lewis’ roommates had already left for winter break over the weekend.
“She’s banging on the door and she’s trying to call,” he told the news outlet. “Alyssa’s not answering. My other daughter shows up with her and they have to go get someone to let them in the dorm room from housing. They go in and find Alyssa passed away.”

A 911 call was placed to paramedics at around 10:35 a.m., and authorities do not believe her death was suspicious. Bill said his daughter had recently been accepted into the school’s Resident Adviser program, and that he wanted to dispel any rumors about her death, News4Jax.com reported.
“I mean, she was on top of the world,” he said.
