The personal information of more than three million people was stolen from a Sacramento medical facility, FOX40.com reported.
Sutter Health said it learned of the theft on Monday, Oct. 17. The information was stored on a password-protected, unencrypted computer, which was taken from the office of the Sutter Medical Foundation.
The computer did not have patients’ financial information, social security numbers or health insurance ID numbers, according to a statement from SutterHealth.org.

The computer also contained descriptions of medical diagnoses and procedures used between 2005 and January 2011.
