People Shave Heads for St. Baldrick's Cancer Foundation

Celebrating St. Patrick’s Day means corned beef, green beer and—shaving your head? That’s what local residents in Green Bay, Wis., did to raise money for the Saint Baldrick’s Foundation on Saturday, Fox11Online.com reported.

The Saint Baldrick's Foundation hosted its annual head-shaving fundraiser to raise money for childhood cancers, and more than 200 people showed up to lose their locks.

One of the children honored was 6-year-old Iana Stoinski, one of the five Saint Baldrick's 2011 ambassador kids. Stoinski was diagnosed with stage four kidney cancer at the age of two. After six months of aggressive treatments, she is now cancer free.

"We did our first one in 2004 and raised $1,800, and here we are seven years later into six figures," organizer Barry Fitzgerald said.

The event, held at St. Brendan's Inn in Green Bay, raised more than $115,000.

All of the funds will go directly to cancer research.
