Much conversation has surrounded Playmate Dani Mathers’ decision to body-shame a stranger in a gym by taking her photo and posting it on Snapchat. But one Florida mom and U.S. Army veterans’ response was direct: Christine Blackmon posted a nude photo of herself to show off her natural body, and encouraged Mathers to “unsee this.” As of Thursday morning, the post— which was published Saturday— had more than 46,000 likes.
Blackmon, a mother of three in Orlando, told Inside Edition that when she first saw Mathers’ photo of the stranger, she was “horrified.”
To show her solidarity with the shamed woman she’d never met, she posted the photo of herself at the gym.
“The picture I posted was right before working out,” she told the news website. “And I was horrified by it and I saw lumps and bumps but my husband thought it was beautiful.”
In the post, Blackmon writes a letter directly to Mathers:
“Not all of us work out to be ‘hot,’ some of us work out simply to honor the bodies we were given,” she wrote. “That's all that woman was trying to do and you violated her. Shame on you,” Blackmon wrote. “I'd like to introduce you to my 5'10", 194lb lumpy, bumpy glory.”
