Three New York State police officers helped deliver a healthy baby girl on the side of the road Wednesday morning after stumbling upon the mother as she was in labor.
Fox 5 NY reported that Suffolk County Police officer Joseph Ferro approached a stopped vehicle on the side of the road. The driver, of Dix Hills, New York, reportedly told him that his wife, who is 32 but whom the news station did not name, was in labor. The news station also didn’t name the driver.
Officers Gerard Maxim and Jonathan Murray arrived at the scene and assisted in the delivery of the newborn at 2:21 a.m.
The couple and their baby girl then went to Huntington Hospital, in Huntington, New York.
