An elementary school student from southern New Jersey has died of complications from the flu.
Burlington Township school officials say the child went home sick from an after-school program on Thursday, was taken to a hospital the next day and died Saturday morning at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
The name and age of the child has not been released. The student attended B. Bernice Young Elementary School, which serves students from pre-kindergarten through second grade. The school says the children had flu vaccinations.
The school district says 14 students went home last week with flu symptoms. The school was cleaned with a special disinfectant on Friday and again Sunday.
