Mom Gives Birth to 14-Pound Baby
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}A California mother was in for a big surprise when she gave birth to a 14-pound baby this week, NBC Los Angeles reported.
Matthew Anthony Maldanado actually tipped the scales at 14 pounds, 3.6 ounces, when he arrived Monday morning. His mother, Emily, had been in labor for two days at Natividad Medical Center.
Matthew’s father, Jose, had been told his son would be big – but he didn’t expect him to be that big.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}“They took him out, and the doctor started saying, ‘Damn,’ so they put him on the scale,” Emily Maldonado said.
Matthew was born via cesarean section.
