A California woman may have broken a world record when she gave birth a set of triplets who collectively weigh more than 20 pounds.

Brittany Deen gave birth to triplet boys last Thursday in Sacramento, Calif., and together, the boys weighed more than 20 pounds.

In 2011, North Carolina triplets tipped the scale at 18 pounds, 11 ounces, according to KTXL. The Guinness Book of World Records is looking into this case to verify if it breaks the world record.

The Deen babies weighed 5 pounds, 5 ounces; 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 7 pounds, 8 ounces.

Deen said she wanted to have a healthy pregnancy – but she ate 6,000 calories each day.

“We are really excited,” said Dr. William Gilbert of Sutter Memorial Hospital. “A couple of years ago, we started a program called The Centers Mom Program. This was to help mother's with multiple gestations in an effort to  make their transition through the pregnancy and afterward as smooth as humanly  possible. And she is one of our best graduates.”

Gilbert compared the babies’ weight to that of a turkey – ironically, because next week is Thanksgiving.

Deen, a registered nurse, said she’s already lost 50 pounds since the babies were born.
