At least three subway cars on the N subway line are out of service after bedbugs were discovered traveling with straphangers.
The NY Daily News reported two of the trains were offline on Sunday and a third train was placed out of service on Tuesday.
The cars are being fumigated, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

"We found bedbugs in a few trains, all of which were immediately taken out of service for exterminating. Remember, we have more than 6,200 subway cars in service," said Adam Lisberg.
The paper reports the critters were spotted in seat cushions used by conductors and motormen.
Bedbugs have been an ongoing problem in New York City.

The bugs can be carried from place to place on clothing. Unsuspecting people can pick them up in apartments, taxis and other infested spaces.
Bedbugs are small, flat bugs that feed on blood and make bites similar to those caused by mosquitoes.
