A terminally ill 4-year-old girl whose last bucket list item was to “shake off” cancer by dancing with Taylor Swift was granted her wish Monday evening, khou.com reported.
After the story of brain cancer patient Jalene Salinas’ story went viral, the pop star used Facetime to chat for about 20 minutes with the little girl, whose remaining days of life are numbered.
"I'm so sorry you're having a bad night. I'm so happy to talk to you though and I'm so happy you like 'Shake It off,'" Swift said in a KENS5-TV video that documents their meeting.

"You look beautiful tonight, you really do. You're just as pretty as your pictures." Swift added.
Salinas, of San Antonio, Tex., was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor about 10 months ago, and her days have been filled with chemotherapy and radiation ever since.
Her hope to dance with Swift gained traction on the Web after people tweeted the hashtag #ShakeItOffJalene. Swift, who is known for taking care of her fans, reportedly heard about Salinas’ wish while she was in London for the Brit Awards last week.

Salinas’ mother, Jennifer Arrigas, told KENS5-TV that her daughter fell ill over the weekend and couldn’t walk on Monday. She was so tired that she could not attend a community benefit scheduled in her honor to raise funds for her treatment. But the little girl could still talk, and she mustered up enough strength to talk to the pop star about her baby brother, Josh.
“Everyone in the car with me is crying right now,” Swift told Salinas.
Arrigas thanked Swift and told the singer that “as her mom it just, it means the world to me that she got to do and see and everything is checked off now. It means so much to me that you reached out to us."

Salinas also expressed her gratitude to Swift, as well as to her supporters online in a YouTube video recorded after the Facetime call. “Love y’all,” Salinas said.
