Wendy's employee films herself quitting, leaving through the drive-thru window: 'Always wanted to'

Did we just witness the next big trend in fast-food resignations?

A TikTok user allegedly filmed herself quitting her job at a Wendy’s in Illinois and immediately hopping out of the restaurant's drive-thru window.

“I’ve always wanted to jump out of the drive-thru window but knew I couldn’t ever do it on my shift,” Maria Kukulak tells Fox News of her unconventional resignation in late February. “So I thought this was perfect timing to do it, while the managers were giving me lots of attitude.”

Kukulak hinted at her unpleasant working conditions in her viral TikTok video, telling followers that she had been planning to quit ever since the restaurant’s new management took over.

“Hey guys, I’m gonna quit right now,” she filmed herself saying during a shift at the restaurant. “It’s hard for me because I’ve worked here for a year and I actually really like it. But the managers, the new ones, are actually being really mean to me."

“And I still have to mop and sweep so I’m not just going to just quit and leave it for them to clean because I feel bad, so I’m gonna hop out the window when I’m done … but first I’m going to sweep and do my job,” she added.

Kukulak further explained that she had already lined up a new job at a gym, and was now ready to take her “f---ing chance” (i.e., quit) after allegedly becoming aware that the managers had referred to her as a “lost cause.”

“I’m quitting for sure,” she said into the camera.

Kukulak then filmed herself telling a supervisor — named “John” — that she was quitting. And then, as promised, she stepped out of the drive-thru window.

“Maria, stop,” a man’s voice can be heard saying. “Are you f---ing serious?”

Once outside, Kukulak filmed herself imparting a few final words to the management. “I’m not a lost cause, and I quit.”

Kukulak also confirmed to Fox News that she’s much happier at the gym than she was during her last days at Wendy’s.

“I have worked at my new job for one day and I already like it,” she said.
