  • B is for bread and basting. Every Thanksgiving dinner needs some kind of bread for sopping up that extra gravy. Quick tip: Basting does little to actually keep the turkey moist. Its sole purpose is to help give the skin that delicious golden brown color. To have an evenly cooked bird begin basting during the last hour of cooking and if you really want it to be moist, turn to another B word brining.

  • D is for dishes. It’s always nice to break out the fine china, but for big parties and quick clean up try the disposable plastic plates that look like real china. Companies like Hanna K Signature and Reflections make paper plates look classy. There is even plastic flatware that looks like real silverware. You can purchase these for under $20. Just throw them away for less work at the end of the night or wash and save for that other big holiday coming up. What’s it called again? Oh right, Christmas.
