Would you like a margarita to wash down that spicy chicken Doritos Locos Taco?
That dream may soon become a reality.
According to Eater, Yum! Brands—the company behind Taco Bell, KFC, and Pizza Hut—has applied for a liquor license at its newest Taco Bell location in the trendy Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago. If approved, it would be the first of the chain's 6,500 locations to serve alcohol.

A spokeswoman for Yum! also told Eater that they are planning "completely new urban restaurant design" for the Wicker Park space.
At U.S. Taco Co.—the upscale version of Taco Bell in California owned by Yum!—previous plans to offer alcohol-spiked milkshakes have been postponed. It was originally rumored that the new location in Wicker Park would be a U.S. Taco Co. but Yum! Brands confirmed to Eater that it would be a “normal” Taco Bell.
Though the move to bring alcohol into its restaurants would be revolutionary for Taco Bell, many of its competitors in the fast casual Tex-Mex space like Chipotle and Baja Fresh already offer booze at their locations.
