Sometimes it feels Starbucks is everywhere, but a new map shows just how retail outlets there are.
Morgan Stanley just released its latest retail “Atlas,” which shows the state-by-state distribution of the 11,407 Starbucks shops in U.S.
California far and away leads the nation with 2,468 Starbucks outposts, followed by Texas with 855, and Washington with 688. The Northwest has more shops in than any other region –maybe not so surprising given that the chain began in Seattle.
The chain has far fewer locations in Southeast, with just 11 percent, compared to the national average of 24.
If you’re really looking to get away from the mega-chain, head to Vermont which has only four locations – the only state in the single digits.
Internationally, Starbucks has over 20,000 locations.
