Not all heroes wear capes. Some thieves do, too.

Police in Salamanca, N.Y. are searching for a man they say dressed up as a super hero-- but acted like a real villain.

On Tuesday, video surveillance from a store on Center St. shows a man dressed in a grey Batman costume with a Captain America mask pick up two 18-packs of Budweiser beer from a cooler and leave the store without paying for the drinks, reports WIVB.

Authorities are describing the suspect as having a slim build, is likely in his twenties and “stands between 5-foot-9 and 6-feet-tall.”

Police are asking anyone with information on the man’s identity or insight into the alleged stuff to call in anonymously.

Is dressing up to steal beer a new trend?

Earlier this month, multiple Alabama grocery stores reported that a man wearing a delivery truck uniform stole several pallets of beer and soft drinks and carted them out in broad daylight. Police are still looking for the suspect.
