Pizza Hut vows to remove antibiotics from chicken wings by 2022

Pizza Hut is making strides to become the first national pizza company to serve completely antibiotic-free chicken wings.
Just last year, the chain successfully removed all antibiotics from poultry served on pizza, and now Pizza Hut is promising to rid them from the rest of the menu over the next four years.
“We are dedicated to listening to our customers and to serving better food. Today’s announcement to no longer serve chicken raised with antibiotics by 2022 demonstrates our commitment to serve food that not only tastes great, but that customers can feel good about eating,” Pizza Hut chief brand officer Marianne Radley said in a release issued Wednesday.

Over the years, Pizza Hut has tidied its use of synthetic ingredients. In 2015, the chain successfully omitted all artificial flavors and colors from its core pizzas. The following year, it was announced that controversial butylated hydroxyanisole and butylated hydroxytoluene would be removed from all meats. And in 2017, artificial preservatives previously used in the chain’s cheese were eliminated.
Does this mean pizza is healthy now? Maybe not, but customers may be surprised that the Hut does offer relatively healthier options, as do these other 20 popular restaurant chains across America.
