    Nine 007-Inspired Cocktails

    Step aside, Oscar. There’s another man stepping into the spotlight during the Academy Awards, and his name is Bond. James Bond. To mark the 50th anniversary of the Bond franchise, this year's ceremony will feature a tribute to the spy series, likely featuring the films' iconic scenes, music and actors. POLL: Who Was the Best 007? 007 fans will certainly relish all the action and intrigue, but they might love it even more with a classic 007-inspired cocktail in their hand. With that in mind, we gathered several updated versions of Bond's on-screen drinks from mixologists around the country. Just remember to stir — or not stir — accordingly.

    Ingredients 1.5 oz. vodka (We used Vikingfjord Vodka 80 Proof) 1.0 oz. sweet vermouth 0.75 oz. Campari 1 orange peel Preparation Stir all ingredients in a mixing glass for 20-30 seconds. Pour drink into rocks glass over large ice cube. Garnish with an orange peel.

    Ingredients 3 oz. chilled Croft PINK Port 4 oz. champagne (We used Laurent-Perrier Brut) 0.5 oz. cointreau 2 dashes bitters 1 lemon twist Preparation Pour all ingredients into a champagne flute and give it a quick stir. Garnish with a lemon twist.

    Ingredients 1 oz. gin (We used Tanqueray Gin) 1/3 oz. vodka (We used Ketel One) 1 barspoon French aperitif wine 1 lemon peel Preparation Combine gin, vodka and French aperitif into a cocktail shaker and shake well. Strain contents into a martini glass and place ice into drink.

    Ingredients 1 ½ inch honeycomb piece 1 oz. honey liqueur 5 oz. champagne Preparation Pour the honey liqueur into a champagne flute. Add the honeycomb piece and fill glass with champagne.

  • The Shaken, Not Stirred Rose Gimlet
    Ingredients 1.25 oz. rosehip-infused gin ½ oz. simple syrup ½ oz. fresh lime juice 3 drops rose water Edible rose petals (for garnish) Preparation First, prepare rosehip-infused gin by pouring a bottle of your favorite gin into a pitcher. Add dried rose hips and cover pitcher. Leave in a warm place overnight. It can then be strained and used immediately. Add infused gin, simple syrup, lime juice and rose water in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with edible rose petals.

    Ingredients 1.5 oz. scotch (We used Johnnie Walker Double Black Scotch) 1 tsp. Demerara syrup 1 dash Hella Bitter Citrus 1 dash Hella Bitter Aromatic Preparation Stir ingredients with ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with an orange twist.
