Iowa Spirits Flow on the Mississippi River

Mississippi River Distilling Company, set along the banks of “Old Muddy”, turns Iowa's corn into sippin’-smooth vodka, gin, bourbon and a mysterious ‘artisan spirit’ they’ve dubbed ‘The River Baron’. (Mississippi River Distilling Company)

Their vodka has been recognized with a bronze medal from the 2011 New York International Spirits competition. (Mississippi River Distilling Company)

Tourist can check out the distilling process and --better yet--get to taste some samples.  If you are after their small-batch bourbon, try to visit in March, but make sure you dress warmly.   (Mississippi River Distilling Company )
