Interestingly, despite starring Tom Hanks, there's nary a glimpse of Meg Ryan or a heart-warming love story. Regardless, this story of a boy coming to terms with his father's death and attempting to unravel what may or may not be a mystery left behind by his dad calls for a drink with a little mystery itself, if only to take one's mind off the tears that are sure to flow at some point. Enter The Euphoria, a bracingly herbal combination of elderflower liqueur and gin that levels just enough sweetness and citrus to cut the edge and make the mix work nigh-perfectly, though it's tough to say exactly why.

Ingredients:
1 ounce gin (Plymouth or Bombay Sapphire both work nicely in this cocktail)
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}1 ounce elderflower liqueur (St. Germain is the gold standard)
1/2 ounce simple syrup
1/2 ounce fresh lemon juice

Combine all the ingredients in a shaker full of ice and shake hard until the mixture is nice and frosty. Strain into a cocktail glass and try to forget about Meg Ryan's “In The Cut.”
