No royal feast would be complete without the properly themed libation. At least that’s what one Australian-based advertising agency is banking on.
Common Ventures, in Sydney, has created a new line of "Game of Thrones" wines, appropriately called The Wines of Westeros. The wines will be sourced from Australian vineyards and are scheduled to be released next year, just in time for the season five premiere, according to PSFK.
With a bold selection of red and whites, fans can proclaim their allegiance to one of the 12 houses featured on the show by selecting a corresponding wine.
“The reds are all associated with the houses that are head strong and robust,” Jane Burhop of Common ventures told PSFK. “The whites on the other hand are more cunning, perceptive and mysterious.”
Are you a Stark, Greyjoy or Arryn? Then the 2014 Sauvignon Blanc is for you. The Dothraki are represented by Merlot, while the Targaryen and Night's Watch are represented by Shiraz. Pinot Noir enthusiasts can opt for a bottle from the Baratheon and Lannister houses.
These wines are not the first "Thrones"-themed alcoholic beverage on the market. Brewery Ommegang released a line of craft beers ahead of the Season three premiere and creates two new Game of Thrones brews each year.
Check out the The Wines of Westeros website for information on all 12 bottles. The themed wines are currently available for pre-order and will cost $18.75 each.
