Burger King has thrown the latest punch in the battle for frugal lovers of fast food.

On Thursday, the Whopper chain announced it’s bringing back the 10-piece nugget deal for just $1.49.

The move comes in the wake of McDonald’s announcement earlier this week that it will be replacing its Dollar Menu with a “McPick 2” deal in January that lets customers choose two items-- a McDouble, a McChicken, small fries, and mozzarella sticks—for $2. And KFC is now offering a $5 “Fill Up” meal that includes an entree, drink, select sides, and a dessert for just $5.

Burger King previously has offered this discounted nugget deal twice before—it debuted Oct. 2014 and they brought it back again in January.

Other fast food chains have successfully experimented with value menus recently. In October, Wendy’s rolled out a “4 for $4” meal with some of the chain’s most popular items-- a junior bacon cheeseburger, four chicken nuggets, small fries, and a drink. According to Business Insider, the promotion helped boost revenue, and same store sales rose 3.1 percent in the third quarter.

McDonald’s executives have indicated that they believe many of their customers are most concerned with value. CEO Steve Easterbrook said its Dollar Menu and More menu—which had items priced as high as $5—was a basically a failure as the chain looked to switch back to lower priced offerings.

"Some of the challenges we've had in the US have been somewhat self-inflicted," Easterbrook said during a conference call in July. "We moved away from the Dollar Menu and didn't replace it with significant-enough value in the eyes of consumers."
