Trump says visiting Clemson team will eat fast food
President Trump confirmed Monday that the White House will be serving McDonald's, Wendy's and Burger King during a dinner with the visiting Clemson University football team following their win against the University of Alabama.
Ayesha Curry thinks the Clemson Tigers deserve a “real feast” after chowing down on fast food — including McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King — at a White House dinner on Monday night.
On Tuesday, the celebrity chef responded to a tweet from a critic of President Trump’s dinner event, who said he wasn’t surprised that Curry’s husband, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, expressed his desire to decline an invitation to the White House following the 2017 NBA finals.

“No wonder why @StephenCurry30 didn’t want to go... I’d much rather eat whatever @ayeshacurry is cooking any day too,” Twitter user Previn Naidu wrote.

Curry, also the host of “Ayesha’s Homemade” on Food Network, replied to the compliment with an open invitation for the championship Clemson football team to come eat a “real feast” at her barbecue restaurant International Smoke.
“@eatatsmoke will gladly feed the Clemson Tigers any day. A real feast and celebration,” Curry wrote.
She also added that there would be no “[10-cent] dipping sauces on silver platters” at her restaurant — a jab at the McDonald’s dipping sauces that were placed in ornate trays for the Clemson athletes at Monday’s dinner.

President Trump first revealed the dinner plans on Monday, following Clemson's win against the University of Alabama.
“The Clemson championship team, the national championship team will be coming tonight, it’ll be exciting,” Trump said when speaking to reporters outside the White House. “And I think we’re going to serve McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King with some pizza. I really mean it. It’ll be interesting. And I would think that’s their favorite food,” Trump said.

Photos from the dinner appeared to show at least some of the athletes enjoying the event, and Tigers quarterback Trevor Lawrence later called the dinner “awesome,” though he denied ever uttering a quote attributed to him following the visit, in which he was alleged to have stated, “President Trump got all our favorite foods."
