The James Beard Awards, known as the "Oscars of the Food World," kicked off its season Monday with it's list of nominees for the best-of-the-best in the food industry.
The James Beard Foundation, named after "the father of American cuisine," announced the nominees at The Azure Pool at The Venetian and The Palazzo in Las Vegas.
The winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony and Gala Reception on May 7, presented by Food Network personality Alton Brown. The foundation has been honoring the outstanding names in the food and beverage industry since 1990.
