10 best perceived beers in America

Want to know what the kids are binging on this spring break? Just in time for America’s biggest bender week, YouGov BrandIndex, a company that monitors branding, has released the results of its annual survey into what the U.S. perceives as the best beers.

The number one and two positions are Samuel Adams and Budweiser--which held steady from last year. The big climber this year is Dos Equis, owned by Heineken, which is up four places from last year to third in this year’s list.  Other big moves are Artois and Yuengling, which replaced Miller and Miller Lite in the top 10.

The YouGov Brand Index asked people aged over 21: “If you’ve heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?”

The measurement score is in a range from 100 to -100 and is compiled by subtracting negative feedback from positive. If a brand has a zero score that means an equal measure of positive and negative feedback.
