An upcoming graphic novel reportedly portrays Jesus Christ in a whole new light.

The Image Comics novel “Jesusfreak,” depicts a sword-wielding Jesus Christ who chops off the heads of his opponents, The Christian Post reported Monday.

The work, set in the year 26 C.E., is “a bloody, two-fisted tale of historical heroic fiction,” according to its online description.

Instead of pulling from “strict religious traditions,” the storyline was more interested in taking a deep-dive into “the unique tension that exists between depicting a mythical figure and a historical figure – a tension that is compounded when, for many, they’re considered the same person,” the novel’s writer Joe Casey previously said, according to Deadline.

The novel is due out on March 20.
