A woman has dropped a lawsuit against Jennifer Lopez and her on-off boyfriend Beau “Casper” Smart over an alleged dog attack last year.
Andrea Ashley filed court papers Tuesday at Los Angeles Superior Court requesting for the dismissal of her negligence suit against the singer and dancer, the Los Angeles Daily News reported. However, the documents did not state whether a settlement had been reach between the two parties or if Ashley was no longer pursuing the case for other reasons.
According to the initial lawsuit filed Feb. 13, Ashley, a neighbor of Lopez and Smart, alleged that she was getting out of her car last December when Smart’s dog, Bear, escaped through the front gate and “mauled” Ashley.

She said the dog attacked her left arm and hand, causing bone fracture and lacerations. The suit stated that Bear also tried to attack Ashley during the spring of 2014, but was pulled away by her gardener, who informed the domestic staff at Lopez’s home about the alleged attack.
According to the suit, Smart came out of his home and apologized. He apologized again later that day and said he would pay for her medical bills.
“This should never have happened, I just feel awful,” he stated, according to the complaint.

Lawyers for Lopez reportedly sent Ashley a letter stating that Bear was owned by Smart and he was responsible for the dog’s actions, not her.
