Former New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter is finally settling down, and one of his many ex-girlfriends couldn't be happier for him.
Supermodel Vida Guerra, who dated Jeter in 2005, told TMZ she is thrilled for his engagement to Hannah Davis, especially because he is fulfilling a longtime dream.
“He said once he retired he wanted to get married, so he’s living his dream. Congratulations to him,” Guerra said. “He’s really an awesome person, and I wish him all the best.”
Jeter, who retired after 20 years in baseball in 2014, got engaged to Davis in late October. She showed off the ring – estimated to cost anywhere between $150,000 and $200,000 – at the Country Music Awards in Nashville last week.
The couple have been dating on and off since 2012.
“It was for their [three-year] anniversary,” a source told to the NY Post's Page Six about the couple’s proposal.
Guerra said she is completely OK with not being Jeter’s No. 1, especially since she was 22 years old when they dated.
