Vin Diesel, Paloma Jimenez name daughter after Paul Walker

Vin Diesel and girlfriend Paloma Jimenez are keeping Paul Walker very much alive in their family.

The late actor, who died on Nov. 20, 2013 along with friend Roger Rodas, was the inspiration behind the name of Diesel’s newborn daughter.

“I named her Pauline,” Diesel revealed on NBC’s “Today Show” on Monday. “There’s no other person that I’m thinking about as I’m cutting this umbilical cord. I knew he was there and I felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my memory, a part of my word.”

Diesel, who was on the morning show promoting Walker’s last film “Furious 7,” told anchor Natalie Morales he revealed the news of his baby’s name to her because it would be in “good hands.”

“I’m telling you this because I love you,” he said. “I know that you are a good soul, and I know that this is in good hands.”

Pauline, whose birth was announced via Facebook on March 16, is Diesel and Jimenez’s third child. The couple is also parents to daughter Hania Riley Sinclair, 6, and son Vincent Sinclair, 4.

In his announcement, Diesel used the lyrics of Louis Armstrong’s “It’s a Wonderful World” along with a touching image of him with Pauline.

“I hear babies crying, I watch them grow,” he wrote. “They’ll learn much more, than I’ll never know. And I think to myself, what a wonderful world…”

News broke in February that the couple was expecting their third child after reports surfaced that Diesel had backed out of a few promotional stops for “Furious 7,” out April 3.
