Valerie Harper and Kellie Pickler have more in common than you may think.
The two stars both share a passion for raising awareness about the risks of lung cancer for women. They teamed up at the launch of American Lung Association's new program, Lung Force, on Tuesday.
"It's a wonderful new initiative," Harper, who was diagnosed with lung cancer back in 2009, told InTheFOXLight. "Lung cancer is the No. 1 [cancer] killer of women… I think that people are distancing themselves from lung cancer by saying, 'Oh, I don't smoke,' [but] that's a lie.”

Pickler said she hopes to raise awareness about the issue. Her grandmother died from lung cancer just one day after she was diagnosed.
"It's something that's very near and dear to my heart," Pickler said.
