He's made a career of playing police officers; By Franz' own count, the character of Detective Andy Sipowicz was his 27th role as a cop. He won four Emmys for his work in 'NYPD Blue.' He won an Emmy in 1988 for Best Guest Actor for his work on an episode of 'Midnight Caller.' Spano, 63, has appeared in 27 films, including 'Apollo 13' and 'Primal Fear. His many films include 'There's Something About Mary,' 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas,' 'Girl, Interrupted,' 'The Hangover,' and 'The Invention of Lying' (in theaters soon).
