The new Oscar de la Renta Tennis Center at the Puntacana Resort & Club was inaugurated last week in the Dominican Republic.

The ceremony was held during the Oscar de la Renta Tennis Tournament, an annual three-day charity tournament, and the late fashion designer's longtime friend Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine, was on hand to honor the Dominican legend.

According to the New York Post, Wintour spoke about her friend's love for the sport during the inauguration.

De la Renta’s widow Annette and son Moíses also attended the tournament.

“We owe you this and much more, Oscar – forever in our hearts and with great love, we dedicate this one to you,” the resort captioned an image sent out on Instagram.

De la Renta passed away in October at 82.

The luxury resort has held a charity tournament in his honor since 2001. Proceeds go toward educating local ball boys.

The resort recently shared a video of de la Renta’s life in Punta Cana.

This year’s tournament included matches with Dominican tennis star Victor Estrella, the first Dominican to play at the U.S. Open last year.

Before the tournament, Spanish singer Julio Iglesias gave a concert to honor de la Renta.
