They're what make reality TV work -- the hateful personalities who practically jump off the screen to annoy you.
"Kate Plus Eight" star Kate Gosselin is the latest to get under your skin and even her network has had enough, canceling the show last month.
But don't forget about the rest of your favorite villains.
In no particular order... here they are!
Kate Gosselin
"Kate Plus Eight Star" Kate Gosselin recently got the boot from TLC when the network canceled her show due to low ratings. Hitting the interview circuit this week, the reality mom vowed that she would return to television, hinting that she may do voice-overs or acting.
The rumored difficult diva also said she might be interested in designing a clothing line for children, as well as motivational speaking.. This after she slammed ex-hubby Jon Gosselin for not wanting their children on television anymore and wanting them to have a normal life.

Jesse James
He's not hated for his successful reality programs, "Motorcycle Mania," "Monster Garage" and "Jesse James is a Dead Man," but Sandra Bullock's ex-husband (and Kat Von D's current squeeze) is definitely hated for his personal choices. After quite a few alleged "mistresses" came forward last year, reality star Jesse has been dubbed "the most hated man in America."

Heidi and Spencer Pratt
The ultimate gag-inducing reality couple, MTV stars Heidi and Spencer came to prominence with reality series "The Hills." Stunts including weddings, plastic surgery, breakups, and rumors have kept this pair in the paparazzi's sights -- just the way they like it.

Simon Cowell
Sharp-tongued former "American Idol" judge Cowell tells it like it is, often humiliating pop star wannabes as well as his fellow judges. He also recently admitted his desire to be cryogenically frozen. But that's why we love him and will continue to do so on "The X Factor."

Jonny Fairplay
"Survivor: Pearl Islands" contestant Jon Dalton, AKA Jonny Fairplay constructed what host Jeff Probst called "the greatest lie in 'Survivor' history" when he lied about the death of his grandmother to get ahead on the show. That's low.
Though admittedly good for ratings, even host Probst hates Fairplay. "He's an absolute jackass whose actions at the Vanuatu finale after-party pissed me off so much that he's banned from any event that I'm at from now on," Probst has said. "I'm done with Jonny Fairplay."

Vienna Girardi
The former winner of ABC's "The Bachelor" caused a ruckus after getting a ring from bachelor Jake Pavelka. Why? The blonde "bad girl" made enemies on the show, and her bad reputation continued once the series wrapped: Scandalous photos surfaced.
Vienna and Jake split up, and she has gone on to star in "Bachelor Pad 2" with current squeeze Kasey Kahl. On last week's episode, the two fought in front of the entire cast when she refused to have sex with him.
Classy!

Richard Hatch
Fellow competitor Susan Hawk described Hatch, the first "Survivor" winner as "the snake who knowingly went after prey."
Maybe so, but nudist got his comeuppance when IRS sentenced him to 51 months in prison for tax evasion. The manipulative Hatch had failed to report his $1 million dollars in prize money and other earnings from his Survivor win.

Omarosa
One of the original and best-known villains of reality TV, Omarosa Manigault Stallworth (AKA simply Omarosa) helped turn Donald Trump's NBC reality TV series "The Apprentice" into a major hit in its first season.
The lying, conniving “executive” went on to other reality shows, where she created more enemies.

Jeffrey Sebelia
Sebelia crafted a "bad boy" persona on Bravo's hit "Project Runway." The preening designer loved wreaking havoc amongst his fellow contestants, but he later claimed that his villainous behavior was actually planned: "It was sort of a good strategic ploy because everyone got pissed off and unnerved and hated me when I walked into the room."
Sebelia's aggressive nature led to many arguments, including one notable tiff with fellow designer Laura, who accused him of outsourcing his clothing line for the finale. Laura's assertion was found to be false and Sebelia went on to win first place, proving that sometimes villains finish first.

Amber and Rob
Second only to Speidi, Amber and Rob are the ultimate reality couple. The duo found fame on "Survivor All Stars" and "The Amazing Race" as a heinous, cash prize-grabbing entity.
Before Amber won the $1 million bucks on "Survivor All Stars," Rob proposed, causing viewers to cry foul that the couple had plotted to take everyone else out and split the winnings. They were hated again on "The Amazing Race," when viewers felt they used an unfair fame advantage to take another million.
Fellow contestant Lynn said: "They're kind of like an STD. You've got to protect yourself from them." Though they only won second place, the dastardly duo got CBS to pay for their wedding, further irking the public.
Jason Wahler
Fans of MTV series "Laguna Beach" were annoyed that all the girls on the show seemed to be infatuated with Wahler. And Lauren Conrad's ex just won't fade away.
The 23 year-old party boy, who was popped last year for his sixth drinking arrest, recently gushed about making amends with Conrad after getting sober.
"I needed to humble myself a lot," he said. A lot of those ('Laguna Beach') people knew me before all the bad stuff, and thankfully I've been able to rekindle a lot of my old friendships."

Lacey Conner
Fans of "Rock of Love" call Lacey the best TV villain ever. "Psycho Rocker Lacey" would tell the show's main man, Bret Michaels, anything and everything to bump out her fellow contestants. Her plan backfired and she was eventually eliminated, but this scandalous villain won a spot on our list.

New York
Tiffany Pollard became New York on "Flavor of Love" (Seasons 1 and 2), and was such a character that she got her own Vh1 spin-off, "I Love New York."
On "Flavor of Love," New York was always ready to brawl for Flavor Flav, and would show her disapproval for anything with a classic mooning. On her own show, she fought with her mother, and broke off her engagement to fiance Tango, telling viewers he wasn't well endowed.
New York is one classy lady!

Jon Gosselin
As the other half of "Jon + Kate Plus Eight," Jon has proven to be just as horrible as his nagging ex, Kate. Allegations of cheating predated the Gosselin divorce, and shortly after the parents split, the Ed Hardy-clad octo-dad stepped out with a much younger gal pal. Jon's been hitting the Hollywood scene since his divorce, partying, dating younger women, and even befriending toxic dad Michael Lohan.
Yikes.

Gordon Ramsay
British chef Gordon Ramsay runs a tough kitchen, abusing his "Hell's Kitchen" contestants with insults and curses.
The temper-prone reality star has called his chefs every name in the book, including "dumb blonde" and "f-ing donkey." One contestant was so riled up that she reached out to slap Ramsay, but he held her hand back.
(FOX)
Pumpkin
Another class act from "Flavor of Love," Brooke Thompson, AKA "Pumpkin," was the gross-out queen. Often drunk on the show, Pumpkin's claim to fame is "SpitGate." She spit in rival New York's face.
(VH1)
Brad Womack
In season 11, insensitive Womack make "The Bachelor" history when he decided not to give the final rose to anyone, leaving the show single. His two finalists, DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft were shocked, and so was the TV audience.
He later romanced "Bachelorette" Emily Maynard, but split from their engagement for cryptic reasons by simply saying "the demise of the relationship was completely my fault."
(ABC)
Puck
Puck is unquestionably the original villain of reality TV. Way back in 1994, the attention-starved jerk got camera time on "The Real World: San Francisco," harassing his housemates with poor hygiene and insults. After he was evicted from the house, Puck continued his assault with prank calls.
He later appeared on MTV's "Real World/Road Rules Challenge: Battle of the Sexes" and spit in another contestant's face. Things got so out of control that the show's producer had to be brought in.
