Teddi Mellencamp is coming clean on why she opened up about her multiple miscarriages to the world.
“I have to share who I am because I hope that somebody else will feel a bigger relief because of it and that you’re not alone,” the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” personality told Us Weekly Tuesday. “I feel like when I was struggling… I got really deep and dark inside of myself, and I wasn’t very vulnerable with the people around me. I think I struggled more because of it.”

“That’s why I tried talking about it because, had I known how common it was for women to have miscarriages, maybe I wouldn’t have gone so deep, dark into my shell,” continued the reality TV star. “Had I been more open with people, maybe I would have heard more experiences and stories.”
In December 2018, the daughter of Grammy-winning singer John Mellencamp revealed in an Instagram Q&A that she will not be having more children after suffering multiple miscarriages.
“I would love to more than anything,” the 37-year-old said when a fan asked if she’ll be expanding her family, as reported by Page Six.

“Most likely no though,” she added. “I had multiple miscarriages before [my son] Cruz and the IVF process was very hard for me and I am not sure I can go through it again.”
Mellencamp revealed that despite her efforts to get pregnant with the help of the IVF process, she was disappointed with the results.

“I doubt [getting pregnant again] is going to happen,” she admitted. “There’s nothing I’m doing to prevent it, but I just don’t know if I’m ready… I don’t have any eggs left so I would have to do the whole entire process again, and it was really hard.”
Mellencamp and her husband, Edwin Arroyave, share son 4-year-old Cruz and 6-year-old daughter Slate.
But these days, Mellencamp is focusing on what the future holds for her. Back in January of this year, Mellencamp told Fox News she couldn’t be more grateful her parents gave her a “good balance” growing up.

“They told me to always work hard for what I want to do,” she explained. “That’s really all I knew. If I want something I had to work hard for it, and that’s really what I attribute a lot of what my business has become because my parents never gave me an easy way out of anything.”
“They were like, ‘Oh, you want this? Then work harder. Oh, you want this? These are the steps you need to get there. Nobody’s going to hand it to you.'"

Without that advice at a young age, Mellencamp admits that she doesn’t think she would have the same drive and go-getter attitude she does now.
“I know that it's possible to do anything that I believe in and that I work hard for because I’ve seen it work time and time again for different things in my life.”
And Mellencamp’s family is expanding in other ways. Her father, 67, became engaged to actress Meg Ryan in November 2018.

“I am so happy,” she gushed.
“They are such an amazing couple, and they’re smart, and they’re funny, and they’re both brilliant. I feel really grateful.”
